It’s hard for me to wrap my mind around people thinking the Kardashian’s are an unintelligent, famous for being famous, unsuccessful family.
According to Forbes, the Kardashian women made $122.5 million dollars from June 2015 to June 2016. That is one year worth of work. ONE YEAR.
Have you ever tried to make more than $2,000 in a week?
It’s pretty hard. As a freelancer writer, I would have to work extreme hours to pull off that kind of cash.
These girls just collectively averaged 2.3 million dollars per week.
It’s time to give credit where it is due. The Kardashian women are working hard and proving that despite being born into a pretty good financial situation, they still pushed the glass ceiling.
They each work on multiple projects at a time, fly around the world for business and are constantly being interviewed.
Their intense work ethic teaches me three valuable business lessons:
It is time to master the art of multitasking. Kim reportedly made $300 million dollars off of her mobile game. One year later, while the game was still a highly coveted app, she launched her personal app. Behind the scenes she’s an executive producer on KUWTK as well as an active character on the show. On top of this, she has perfumes, make up lines, collaborations with her sisters and more secret projects that we haven’t even heard of. And, let’s not forget-she’s a mom of two. Now, if only we could get our hands on her planner to see how in the hell she organizes her life.
It’s okay to be inconvenienced. As a full-time world traveler, I can be the first to say that trying to work while consistently traveling is hard. Really hard. These girls are on planes at least three times in a month. This fast paced, jet lagged lifestyle is not convenient, yet they still do it because it is good business. They meet with business executives, fashion designers, tech giants and more proving that embracing inconvenience reaps major benefits.
To be well known, you have to be seen. Working your way up the corporate ladder? The CEO of your company needs to know you exist. Take note from the Kardashian clan-get yourself seen. Put yourself in front of the people that can change your life for the better because that’s the only way they are going to know that you are worthy of that change. Looking for a promotion? Put yourself in front of the person who is in charge of promotions, showing how valuable you are, that keeping you around is socially enjoyable and that you are a reliant member of the team.
There’s a lot to be learned from a family that made more in one year than most do in a lifetime.
The largest lesson of all?
You reap what you sow.
The harder you work, the greater the benefits. The more open you are to learning new skills, saying yes when it would be easier to say no and pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and talking to important people-the higher your chances of immense success.
By acquiring this work ethic, maybe one day that two million dollar check will have your name on it.
Have you ever done a survey that wanted to know too much about you? What about one that already knew too much? Would you trade some privacy for the promise of silky hair? This skit from VODville perfectly depicts how some online surveys can take the questioning a bit too far.
What better way to celebrate International Women’s Day than with some quotes from some of the worlds strongest and most successful women.

Mardi Gras is this weekend in Sydney, the night where it’s acceptable to fun outfits and bright makeup so here is some major makeup inspo for this weekend.
It’s that time of year again where Hollywood’s most talented and hottest get all dressed up for the Oscar awards. You’ll be seeing pictures of the red carpet everywhere but we think getting a look behind the scenes and at the celebs getting ready is more exciting. So here are some of the best social media snaps from the celebs and their glam teams.
The new years is creeeeeeeeeepin’ up on us and I’m personally thrilled for it.
It’s time for 2016 to go and for 2017 to come, it’s time for new experiences, new vibes, and new opportunities.
I’ve decided this year to find mantras that will inspire me and remind me of the things that I’m working towards and the mindset I want to have during 2017.
What am I working towards?
I”m working towards building a business and a personal brand. I’m working towards being my own person and not comparing myself to others (I don’t want to point fingers but ahem, ahem…INSTAGRAM). I’m working towards having new epic travel experiences and growing from them as a person.
What mindset do I want to have?
That I’m a bad-ass woman who can pull off anything she sets her mind to. That I’m smarter and stronger than ever and that I’m in it to win it every single solitary day.
What are my mantras?
“Old ways won’t open new doors.”
Ain’t that the truth! Although the past six years were necessary for me to be the person I am now I wasted SO much time doing the same things and then complaining that I was getting the same results. For example, I would keep applying to waitress jobs and then I would complain about still being in the service industry. How could I ever get out if that’s the job I was always applying for? In 2017 I”m remembering that if it’s time for a change it’s up to me to make that change happen by doing things differently than I ever have before.
“It doesn’t matter what others are doing, it matters what you are doing.”
Okay, don’t get me wrong I love Instagram probably more than the average person BUT it is a dangerous pit of comparison. I see all of these women KILLING it in careers that I want to have. I want to be traveling the world and blogging about it! Getting too caught up in the world of Instagram can shatter your dreams and make you feel inadequate. We cannot, ever (in any industry) compare our chapter one to someone else’s chapter 10. This year I’m putting my blinders on and staying focused on MY stuff and not anybody else’s.
“You act like it’s you against the world but it’s really just you against yourself.”
Phew. This is the real deal. This is where we break out of our comfort zones. This is where we get over that ex. This is where we find ourselves. 2016 taught me something absolutely invaluable-that I’m in control of my mind and my mind is in control of my life. If I have shitty thoughts my life will feel seriously shitty. If I have positive and transformative thoughts (like I AM going to be a travel blogger, I AM going to have a successful blog/writing business, I AM financially stable) then the sky opens up and showers me with resources, experiences, and opportunities. You get what you give!
“Do things that feed your soul not your ego and you will be happy.”
Starve that nasty little ego of yours then kick it to the curb and walk away and NEVER look back. We don’t need an ego, it can destroy so many beautiful relationships and opportunities. If you relinquish the control that your ego wants to have on your life you’re no longer scared to do new things, to look stupid, or to have fun. Learning to laugh at myself has been one of the biggest blessings of my life. To be honest, I laugh the hardest when I’m laughing at myself and a mistake I made. If you can do this, you can do anything and you’ll be a fearless leader in a world full of people to scared to risk looking silly.
Sometimes your only available transportation is a leap of faith.” -Margaret Shepard
I saved this for last because if there is anyway to walk into 2017 it’s with this written on your forehead. Okay, I’m kidding you don’t need that Sharpie BUT you do need to live this full heartedly. I’m strutting into 2017 unafraid. I have no back up plan, I have no safety net, and I’m going to do it anyway. My leap of faith is to work on a blog/brand that currently provides no financial stability and to continue to do freelance writing online to grow my voice. There is no promise that this will give me the financial gain that I need in the future but you know what? I don’t need a promise because I know with every cell of my body that this is the path that I’m meant to be on. I have taken the leap and as I fall without a clue as to where I land-I have never been happier.
These epic mantras are going to lead to an epic year for me and I hope that you adopt them as well so that you too can have a year that makes you say, “Wow that was actually absolutely insane.”
Make the necessary changes, focus on yourself, be your number one fan, drop that ego, and jump! Let 2017 know that you’re on the way and you’re coming in hot. Cheers to a great new year!
Christmas season is here and it’s hard to escape the sound of Christmas carols everywhere you go. The problem is the old fashioned Christmas Carols can get pretty old quick. Luckily some of the worlds best artists have released their own versions of Christmas carols this year and here are five of our favourites.
1. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen – Pentatonix
2. She & Him, “Let It Snow”
3. Josh Groban – Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
4. Rascal Flatts Performs ‘A Strange Way To Save The World’
Holy s#$%. That was quite a year. 2016 was wild. It was hectic and chaotic, filled to the brim with gorilla memes and especially unexpected presidential results.
Part of me feels like the way 2016 is ending is how an epic car chase movie scene ends. There’s a car in the background on fire and right in front, strutting her stuff is a badass woman walking away like her work has been accomplished. She’s confident, intense, and most importantly-in control.
Since my life is slightly more tame than that I’ll have to stick to the reality that yes-I’m walking away from this year with epic life lessons that have taught me more than I could have ever imagined-but they certainly didn’t involve how to go about an action scene wearing high heels.
2016, just like any year, brought tears, laughter, loss, and change. Yet this year something big was different and that was my mindset. I decided to change everything about how I saw my life and how I was living it and in turn it changed my life and how I am living it into this beautiful, positive, and interactive way of living.
Here’s what I did:
1. I learned how to fall in love with myself
Yes it sounds narcissistic but no I don’t sit in a mirror and tell myself how pretty I am all day. Falling in love with yourself doesn’t mean you think you s*$# doesn’t stink. It means that you have complete and total respect, loyalty, and confidence in yourself. It means that you’ll stick up for yourself if someone is trying to take advantage of you. It means that you’ll actually go for your dreams because you have the biggest support system around-you. It means that you become true to who you are inside and not who you feel like on the outside. It means that you 100% care for and nurture yourself so that you can honestly be the best version of yourself all the time.
2. I learned the importance of doing things I like to do everyday
At the beginning of the year I wasn’t a happy camper. If someone had asked me I would have said I am genuinely unhappy with my life. I had an epiphany one day that in order to like my life I had to do things that I liked It sounds so obvious but so quickly we forget that we have to feed ourselves good energy in order to be able to give it to others. This year I learned that I have to do at least one thing that I really like to do every single day in order to feel fulfilled, happy, and productive. It has absolutely changed everything.
3. I learned to set small goals
I’ve always wanted a big epic career. I want to work hard for it and I want to create something beautiful, original, and positive. Yet when you tell yourself I want this big, huge massive dream of mine to come true but I have no idea how to get there, it ends up making you feel pretty crummy. So I did something different. I broke it down. I said here’s my end goal AND here is a step by step list of how I get there. I now have daily, weekly, monthly goals that I want to achieve that will all eventually add up to my biggest dream. This realization is the singlehanded most productive tool I have used to get myself closer to accomplishing my big goals and dreams.
4. I learned to be who I wanted to be
Huh? Let me break it down. There’s who you are now and then there’s the person that you picture yourself to be in a few years when you have everything that you think you want to have. For me, I saw myself as I was today and then I saw myself as I was after accomplishing my career goals as two different people. Lightbulb moment…I could be accomplished-career-Eva today, right here right now. I didn’t need the big epic career to do the things that accomplished-career-Eva did. I could have a solid gym routine now, I could eat healthier now, I could wake up earlier now, I could hustle for my dreams now, and I could be the genuine and trustworthy person that I wanted to be right now. I started to embrace this and act as she would, talk as she would, read like she would, spend money like she would and it has been an insane catalyst for my dreams to start to materialize in front of me.
5. I learned that everyone (including myself) is just trying their best
I sometimes forget that my parents weren’t given a “How To Raise A Good Child” manual when I was born and that they had to use everything that they had previously learned to try to raise a semi decent human being. I’ve realized this more as I see friends and siblings have children and I make the connection that they don’t know what they are doing, they’re just trying their best. My parent’s have no idea how to parent a 24 year old. They’re just doing their best. My coworkers are just doing their best. My friends are just doing their best. I am just doing my best. When I look around and I see people everywhere just trying their best to live good lives and to make themselves and others happy, it makes me see the human inside of them and it makes me realize how infinitely connected we all are. It makes me stop judging people. It makes me give everybody a chance. It makes me compassionate. It makes me a better person.
There’s something about 2016 that was epic. For me, it changed everything. I am now living a life that is completely different than I was in 2015 and I have to chock it all up to these gravely important life lessons that I encountered.
There’s no way that I could have ever felt like that badass woman walking away from a fiery car wreck in stilettos and a Gucci jacket in 2015, but 2016 has me feeling some type of way.
With these lessons you can take 2017 by the horns and take control. Live life genuinely, honestly, and passionately and you’ll find yourself walking out of 2017 in those same stilettos and Gucci jacket, tossing the keys over your shoulder and heading straight for 2018.
It’s one of the most anticipated fashion events of the year and every model dreams of walking down that catwalk. This year the famous Victoria’s secret fashion show took place in Paris and it did not disappoint. Here are some facts about the day and some smoking hot behind the scenes snaps.
Random Facts
There is more security at the Victoria’s secret show than there is at the White House. This includes security guards, sniffer dogs and police. This is probably not only due to the fame of the models but also the large amount celebrities and high profile people that come to watch the show.
There is anywhere from between 3-7 people working on a model at one time. The girls need to have their hair, makeup, nails and spray tan done which is why it calls for such a large glam team.
The Victoria’s secret fantasy bra was worn by model Jasmine Tookes this year. It is made of 9000 precious stones and is worth over 3 million dollars. Wow!
Model and girlfriend of Bradley Cooper Irina Shayk walked the catwalk twice and was in the second trimester of her pregnancy on the day of the show.
There were 82 looks that were shown on the runway and they were worn by 52 models.
