One of the top highlights of the Grammy’s this year was when Taylor Swift won Album of the Year; she beat out Alabama Shakes, Kendrick Lamar, Chris Stapleton, and The Weeknd. But winning the award wasn’t really the highlight, it was her speech.

Kanye (here we go again) had recently released his album “The Life of Pablo” and in that album there is a song called “Famous.” And in that song there is a lyric that goes something like this: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that b***h famous.” Um, what? So he thinks he made her famous after she won an award and he jumped the stage and stole her moment, insulting her win?  I don’t think so.

Taylor, with all her grace, has always been kind and forgiving towards the man who bluntly disrespects her time and again. Not this time.

After Taylor thanked her collaborators and made a special shout-out to her co-executive producer, Max Martin, she gave the most inspiring speech of the night for all the women listening (and to take a stab at Kanye).

“As the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammy’s twice,” (yes, you go girl!), “I want to say to all the young women out there…there are going to be people along the way who are going to try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame, but if you just focus on the work, someday when you get where you’re going, you’ll look around and know that it was YOU and the people who love you who put you there….and that will be the best feeling in the world.”

All hail Queen Taylor! I mean, come on, what an inspiring message to all the women around the world! I know, because I’m a woman and have heard many similar stories, that people will try to cut you short for what you’re worth. Don’t let it happen. Follow Taylor’s advice: focus on the work. If you do so, success is inevitable. Always know that you are the queen of your world, you hold the power, and you got yourself wherever you are. And be proud of that for goodness sakes!

Not only has Taylor been wildly successful with her music this year and standing up for herself, she has also been standing up for others. She has been quoted saying that “there’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women” and has acted on that by helping out Kesha with her recent trouble in court.

Kesha reported that she was drugged and raped by her producer Dr. Luke when she was 18 and still a virgin. The case went to court and the judge recently denied Kesha the right to break her contract with the man who raped her. Celebrities are now raising money to help Kesha buy out her contract, Taylor Swift was one of them donating $250,000.

Go ahead Taylor, keep doing your thing. You are certainly loved and appreciated by many.
