We all have them. We all want them to come true.

They keep us up at night. They’re like a nagging little sister that won’t stop until you pay attention to her.

It’s the feeling that you want to chase. The feeling of fulfillment, purpose, and passion.

For me, this feeling is that of helping others to connect to their passions and to show them tangible steps they can take to get themselves there.

Through a serious series of trail and error I’ve found the top four daily power moves that have helped me to accelerate my growth, both personally and career wise.

I’ve tried the whole making your bed everyday thing, I’ve tried eating a healthy breakfast every morning, and I’ve tried getting 8 hours of sleep a night.

The reality is that all of these things really help but they won’t accelerate you much farther than you can throw a football (if you’re me that’s about three feet in front of you).

Here’s where the magic really happens:

Gratitude Journal

I can’t lie to you and say that every single morning I get up and write three things I’m grateful for and three things that I would love to have happen today BUT I can tell you that I do it as damn often as I possibly can. Why? I’ve found that by writing what I’m grateful for and what I would love to have happen that day that suddenly I’m going from zero to sixty. In a matter of days all of my small goals are happening and I’m more aware of my successes than I would have been if I hadn’t written down that I wanted them to happen in the first place.

An example of my three things that would be awesome if they happened today:

  1. I gained twenty new Instagram followers.
  2. I had a good meeting with a potential employer.
  3. I worked out.

Simple and to the point-creating a gratitude journal and then a realistic list of things that would be amazing if they happened today will accelerate your journey AND help you to realize that you are achieving small goals everyday.

To do lists

I’m pretty organized and I’m pretty focused yet there are still times when I have such a long to do list in my head that things get jumbled and it makes my day unnecessarily chaotic. When I write things down and say: Today I Need To Do This: Work out, write an article for a client, meet up with a potential employer, write a blog article, post three Instagram pictures, and look for Instagram analytic apps, I can SO much more easily get everything done in due time and in the best order possible.

Meditation

Yeah, yeah, yeah you here this all the time. Meditation has become an overused term and it’s lost it’s mojo. Don’t let yourself fall into the trap of thinking that meditation is overrated. For any hardworking go-getter this is a necessity. Whether you’re juggling fifteen intense tasks a day or trying to figure out what your passion and goals are meditation will lead you to exactly where you need to be. We don’t realize how often our minds are constantly churning out new thoughts and most of them are completely useless. Learn to control your mind and you will control your life.

“Do one thing everyday that scares you”

Big or small this is an absolute NECESSITY. What happens when you do something that scares you? You get out of your comfort zone. What happens when you get out of your comfort zone? You do things you normally wouldn’t do. What happens when you do things you normally wouldn’t do? Things that normally don’t happen start happening to you. In a few days you could have opportunities you could have only dreamed of and new experiences that totally change your perspective. My absolute favorite part of going out of my comfort zone is that each time it raises the stakes. A month ago, I would do things out of my comfort zone that I now do daily without second question. To get out of my comfort zone now requires a hell of a lot more courageous acts and IDGAF what others think attitude.

Don’t sleep on your dreams. Don’t sideline your goals. Do things daily that won’t just HELP you get to them but will ACCELERATE your journey there. Practicing these four actions have revolutionized my world both career wise and personally.

Get there and get there as fast possible. Make gratitude journaling, to do lists, meditation, and pushing your limits daily habits as best as you can and watch the magic of your dreams unfold.
