Every now and then I find myself bored.
I find myself craving a new adventure, a new landscape, and new people.
Before I used to wonder why other people had the ability to go out and have these adventures, take these amazing picture and meet these incredible people.
I spent a lot of time wondering why they got to do things that I didn’t. I didn’t understand how they had been dealt such a better hand than me.
A year later, and I’ve realized something DETRIMENTAL to my life Something that has allowed me to squeeze every single part out of 2017 (already!) and that has allowed me to have a grand adventure waiting for me around every the corner.
Here’s what I realized:
Instead of complaining about it, I should just go and do it.
What if I took all of the time I allocated to complaining about not getting to go to all these cool places and I decided to spend that time planning these trips?
What if I decided that no matter what my bank account said, I would go and adventure anyway?
What if I decided that I wanted to get the most out of life and then I actually went and did it.
Here’s a few lessons I’ve learned along the way:
- What’s meant to be will always find a way.
- You MUST get out of your own way.
- Stop complaining, seriously.
- Decide that you love your life.
- Just start living.
These are all such pivotal lessons for me-lessons that changed the entire course of my life.
Once I realized that what was going to happen was going to happen, I stopped worrying so much about the outcomes of things and just started going for it. I got out of my own way and started to allow good things to come my way. I quit complaining cold turkey and I decided that this life was mine for the taking. I fell in love with myself and my life and I started waking up each day fully present and ready for the next adventure. Sometimes this adventure is a day of running errands but when you look at it every day as another beautiful day of life-life becomes a series of beautiful days.
What I’ve really fallen in love with life for is this, how easy it can be.
Once we allow these lessons to seep into our lives and take over, life becomes like a joy ride. You can just sit in your seat and see where it’ll take you next. You can watch the scenery as it passes, fall in love, fall out of love, and have incredible experiences.
Having lived life in a sense where I was getting NOTHING out of it and living now where every day is perfect, I could never go back.
Take these lessons to heart. Read them again. Write them down. Elaborate on what each of them mean to you. Start embracing them. Live each of them in every single moment. Let these lessons become your life mantras.
What’s going to happen? When you find yourself bored and ready for something new, you’ll realize that you have all the power. The power to create something new and beautiful is sitting in the palm of your hands.
So, what are you waiting for?
