slice

This tart is soo tasty! It tastes like a mix between a chocolate brownie and chocolate mousse. This is the perfect treat to serve when entertaining friends. As it is very rich, a tiny slice is the perfect size, so it should serve up to 10 people.

Ingredients

Base

3 ½ cups walnuts
½ cup cacao powder
2 tsp natural vanilla essence
Pinch of salt
½ cup honey
2 tbsp coconut oil, softened

Filling

1 banana
1 ½ avocados
½ cup cacao powder
2 tbsp coconut oil, softened
1 tsp natural vanilla essence
1 tsp cinnamon

Optional: ¼ cup of honey (if you want it sweeter, I found the banana was sweet enough)

pie
Method

Base
In a food processor or high speed blender blend the walnuts, cacao powder, vanilla and salt until the walnuts are finely chopped. Add in the honey and coconut oil until it forms a dough.

Line a pie dish with glad (plastic) wrap. Remove the dough and press it into a pie dish, making sure the whole base and sides of the dish are evenly covered. Pop in the fridge while you are making the filling.

Filling
Rinse the blender/food processor out (no need to wash it thoroughly) and place all filling ingredients in it. Blend until the mixture is smooth and silky.

Remove the crust from the fridge and spread the filling on top of it so the top is smooth and even. Cover the pie and pop it in the fridge overnight or for at least 6 hours before serving. Enjoy!
