5 of the Best Day Trips Outside of Sydney

The Blue Mountains 

2 hour drive from Sydney.
There are so many beautiful things to see here such as The Three Sisters, siblings of the Twelve Apostles and the rock formation at Echo Point. There are also some great places to eat such as Darley’s and Pins on Lurline.
If you’re going in Winter it can get very cold and sometimes even snow so make sure you wear lots of layers.

Bowral

1.5 hour drive from Sydney.
Bowral is full of beautiful gardens, dairy farms, wineries, cute cafes and some amazing cafes. There is so much to do and see and you could easily spend a whole weekend there. Be sure to check out some of Bowral’s award winning resturants Biota and Centennial Vineyards Restaurant.

The Hunter Valley

2.5 hour drive from Sydney.
The hunter valley is known for having some of the best Wineries and restaurants in Australia. You can do a tour of many wineries in one day and sample all different wines, try cheese that are made on site and then relax at one of the many amazing restaurants and enjoy a meal while you take in the scenery. You can also go on a romantic hot air balloon ride at sunset to top the day off!

Kangaroo Valley

2 hour drive from Sydney.
Kangaroo Valley is located on the Kagaroo River where you can hire a kayak and expolre what this beautiful town has to offer including waterfalls and the scenic countryside. Make sure you stop by ‘The Worlds Best Pie Shop‘ to refule after a day of kayaking.

Mermaid Pools, Tahmoor

1.5 hour drive from Sydney.
The Mermaid pools are located in Tahmoor but you have to go on a long bush walk to get to them. They are totally worth it though. Just make sure you go with a friend or two and bring lots of water, snacks, sunscreen and toilet paper lol!
